Room-temperature nonlinear Hall effect and wireless radiofrequency rectification in Weyl semimetal TaIrTe4

چکیده

The nonlinear Hall effect (NLHE), which can produce a transverse voltage without any magnetic field, is potential alternative for rectification or frequency doubling. However, the low temperature detection of NLHE limits its applications. Here, we report room-temperature in type-II Weyl semimetal TaIrTe4, hosts robust due to substantial broken inversion symmetry and large band overlapping at Fermi level. We also observe temperature-induced sign TaIrTe4. Our theoretical calculations suggest that observed result shift chemical indicating direct correlation with electronic structure surface. Finally, TaIrTe4 exploited demonstrate wireless RF zero external bias field. This work opens door realizing room applications based on semimetals.

Room-temperature quantum Hall effect in graphene.

The quantum Hall effect (QHE), one example of a quantum phenomenon that occurs on a truly macroscopic scale, has attracted intense interest since its discovery in 1980 and has helped elucidate many important aspects of quantum physics. It has also led to the establishment of a new metrological standard, the resistance quantum. Disappointingly, however, the QHE has been observed only at liquid-h...

Weyl semimetal in a topological insulator multilayer.

We propose a simple realization of the three-dimensional (3D) Weyl semimetal phase, utilizing a multilayer structure, composed of identical thin films of a magnetically doped 3D topological insulator, separated by ordinary-insulator spacer layers. We show that the phase diagram of this system contains a Weyl semimetal phase of the simplest possible kind, with only two Dirac nodes of opposite ch...

Weyl–Kondo semimetal in heavy-fermion systems

Insulating states can be topologically nontrivial, a well-established notion that is exemplified by the quantum Hall effect and topological insulators. By contrast, topological metals have not been experimentally evidenced until recently. In systems with strong correlations, they have yet to be identified. Heavy-fermion semimetals are a prototype of strongly correlated systems and, given their ...

Chiral magnetoresistance in the Weyl semimetal NbP

NbP is a recently realized Weyl semimetal (WSM), hosting Weyl points through which conduction and valence bands cross linearly in the bulk and exotic Fermi arcs appear. The most intriguing transport phenomenon of a WSM is the chiral anomaly-induced negative magnetoresistance (NMR) in parallel electric and magnetic fields. In intrinsic NbP the Weyl points lie far from the Fermi energy, making ch...

Superconductivity in Weyl semimetal candidate MoTe2.

Transition metal dichalcogenides have attracted research interest over the last few decades due to their interesting structural chemistry, unusual electronic properties, rich intercalation chemistry and wide spectrum of potential applications. Despite the fact that the majority of related research focuses on semiconducting transition-metal dichalcogenides (for example, MoS2), recently discovere...
